Overview
Airfence, or soft barrier technology, is a game-changer in motorcycle racing safety. Unlike traditional hay bales or tire walls, Airfence systems are engineered to absorb and dissipate massive amounts of kinetic energy during a collision. By significantly reducing the force transferred to a rider in the event of a crash, these barriers help prevent serious injuries and save lives.
As a not for profit, the UtahSBK owns and maintains a significant inventory of these barriers, which are deployed at high-risk corners throughout Utah Motorsports Campus. This is a massive logistical undertaking funded entirely by the community to ensure that when we push our limits, we do so with a safety net in place.
