StreetGP Overview
StreetGP is designed to bridge the gap between recreational riding and competitive racing. By focusing on fundamental skills and safety protocols, it allows you to test your limits and your machine in a “mock race” format that prioritizes learning and sportsmanship.
- Introductory Racing: Experience the excitement of a real starting grid and timed sessions in a low-pressure setting.
- Coached Sessions: Benefit from the guidance of UtahSBK instructors who help you refine your lines and track awareness.
- Minimal Modification: Most standard track-day-prepared street bikes are eligible, making it highly accessible.
- Safe Environment: Races are conducted under strict UtahSBK safety standards, including full corner worker and medical support.
Don’t have a race license but still want to race?
StreetGP was created specifically for riders in this position. It is the primary recruiting tool for UtahSBK, allowing you to “try before you buy” when it comes to a full racing career.
- No License Required: You do not need a full UtahSBK competition license to participate in StreetGP events.
- Educational Focus: Every event includes a mandatory meeting covering flags, starts, and track-specific safety.
- Clear Progression: Successfully competing in StreetGP gives you the confidence and experience needed for the New Racer Certification (NRC). Want to get your license mid-season? Complete at least 2 StreetGPs and get approval of the Director of Schools to get your race license.
- Affordable Entry: At just $125 per event, it is the most cost-effective way to get on track and experience competitive riding.
Traveling Racers
StreetGP is a fantastic way for out-of-state riders to experience the world-class Utah Motorsports Campus without the logistical hurdles of a full race weekend.
- World-Class Facility: Ride on the same track that previously hosted MotoAmerica and WorldSBK.
- Zero Red Tape: Because a license isn’t required, traveling riders can simply register and ride without reciprocity paperwork.
- Central Location: Located just outside Salt Lake City, the track offers easy access to lodging, food, and high-end paddock amenities.
- The “Mystique” of Utah Motorsports Campus: See why riders travel from across the West to lean their bikes over on this legendary asphalt.
